Orna and Yair first opened Canaan Gallery in 1992 in the Artist colony of Tsfat also known as Safed Zefad....

Their idea was to try and capture the textures and fibers that were traditionally used when weaving Tallit ,talis, in ancient times in the land of Israel – from there comes the name: Canaan Gallery..

“We have tried to tap into the tradition of Safed as a world renowned weaving center in the 16th and 17th century, mixing into it the color and design of the 21st century”.

We specialize in Tallit for bar /bat Mitsva and weddings, Hupah, Hallah cover, Kipa, scarves and Tapestries

Canaan Gallery has been commissioned by synagogues and private collectors throughout the world and has created some of the finest hand woven Judaica in Israel.
